Pet General is an all-in-one app designed to simplify and enhance the lives of pet owners. The app offers a range of features, including a personalized pet profile to track health records, vaccinations, and medical history, alongside reminders for vet visits and medication. It also includes a care calendar for feeding, grooming, and training tasks. Users can browse pet adoption centers, a marketplace for pet products, and easily book services like grooming and pet siting.  

To execute this UI/UX design for this app, I first identified the pages and features I need to include. I then drafted a research plan to define my research goals and create questions to guide the app’s development. I conducted a competitive analysis, researching current competitor apps and comparing the pros and cons of each page and feature. I also created a questionnaire to gather feedback from users about features they felt were missing in other apps. Some of the key insights revealed that current competitor apps lack features like a reminder page and a comprehensive pet profile that includes up-to-date medical records.  

Once the research and key insights were gathered and analyzed, I drafted the wireframes to visualize the app’s pages and features. I used AI to suggest design ideas, such as layouts, colors, and fonts based on trends. The AI also helps me create multiple design variations, allowing me to combine my ideas with new suggestions to improve the user experience. After finalizing the design, I implemented the colors and font into the layouts and began building the app, incorporating feedback from my classmates to refine and improve the features.

The mustard yellow adds a warm, welcoming touch to the design, while the navy blue provides stability by toning down the mustard yellow. The app aims to make a simple, organized layout that is easy to navigate while maintaining a friendly and unique aesthetic. Pet General is the ultimate tool for managing every aspect of pet care, from health to happiness.
